Campaign for the Care of older Australians

16 March 2010

The Campaign for the Care of Older Australians (CCOA) is being run collectively by the two provider peak bodies in the aged care industry and a number of faith-based providers of services and supports for older people. The CCOA group has come together to work together in this election year to raise the profile of concerns about lack of access to services, limited choice in the types and operation of services and challenges to the sustainability of services for older people and their families.

CCOA wrote to the Prime Minister this week expressing our support for the overall direction of health reforms, and called for aged care reforms to be an integral part of the first steps in implementing health reforms. A copy of this letter is available here. UnitingCare Australia will be working with the UnitingCare network in the coming months to support staff, volunteers and the community to contribute to sharing the key messages from CCOA. If you would like to be part of this advocacy campaign, please contact the National Office.
